With all that said, you shouldn't set the lay off date based on the "best day" of the week, but on how fast you can prepare. The odious task of separating a worker in is not a pleasant experience and you'll need to think it through and prepare. To prevent this from happening, you must understand the basics of writing an employee dismissal letter.

Remember if you lay off properly, you will not surprise the jobholder. Your worker manual should list disobedience as one of the infractions that can cause separation. When separating employees, employer conduct during the dismissal period becomes especially important. Termination of employees can feel risky to some employers. Once the memorandum is ready, have your legal organization, or independent attorney-at-law review it. You present the letter at the layoff meeting the day you lay off the worker. Note: If you have a high-risk lay off, follow the meeting program in the next chapter. Separating employees is an emotional minefield not only for the worker, but also for you. Normally, you use progressive discipline with the employee who has performance problems or repeated minor misconduct. NEVER USE A STUPID REASON To sack SOMEONE.
